Tax credit for medical expenses (Québec)

If you paid medical expenses for yourself, your spouse or a dependent, you may, under certain conditions, be entitled to the following tax credits:

 

• Medical expenses (a non-refundable tax credit, i.e. it reduces the amount of the income tax you have to pay, but is not paid to you in cash);
  
   
• Tax credit for medical expenses (a refundable tax credit).

You may also qualify for a tax credit for expenses paid to obtain medical services that were not available in your area.
