If you suffer from a loss of autonomy or require supervision, it is possible to live in an environment much like a regular home thanks to so-called intermediate resource accommodations, which are available throughout the province.
There are currently four main types of residences operated by intermediate resources: supervised apartments, rooming houses, reception homes and group homes.
If you choose to live in one of these facilities, you must make a financial contribution for the services you receive. The contribution covers only costs associated with accommodation and meals. Social services and health services are free of charge for all Québec residents.
