Crime victims compensation

Responsibility : Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail

Under the Crime Victims Compensation Act, persons who suffer bodily injury, or mental or nervous shock as a result of a crime committed in Québec (assault, assault with a weapon, robbery, etc.) may be eligible for benefits and services provided by the Direction de l’indemnisation des victimes d’actes criminels (IVAC) of the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CSST).

What to do
Complete the application for benefits (see the link below) and send it to the IVAC. The form must be submitted during the year in which you incur the injury or material damage.

Note
Paper copies of the application for benefits can be obtained from the IVAC, the CSST, local community services centres (CLSCs), crime victims assistance centres (CAVACs) and police stations.
