Driving ability

Responsibility : Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec

With age, it is normal for certain health problems to arise. This is why six months before you turn 75, again at age 80, then every two hears thereafter, the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) will require you to have your physician complete a medical examination and eye examination report.

The SAAQ may also request that you undergo these examinations in the following
cases :

  • when you turn 70;

  • when your driving and/or state of health suggests that your driving ability should be tested;

  • when you have not undergone a medical examination or an eye examination within the last 10 years and the SAAQ deems it advisable.
