Health services covered outside Québec

If you are traveling outside of Québec, you should note the following:

• The health services insured by the Québec Health Insurance Plan are the same whether you are treated inside or outside of Québec.


• If you receive healthcare outside of Québec, the Régie de l'assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) will reimburse only part of your expenses.

Before leaving Québec, even if only for a few hours, you should purchase private health insurance that offers partial or total coverage for services not covered by the RAMQ.
