All private residences for the elderly must be registered in the register of residences for the elderly. As of February 14, 2009, operators are also required to hold a certificate of compliance stating that their residence satisfies all health criteria listed in the Regulation respecting the conditions for obtaining a certificate of compliance for a residence for the elderly.
